Mi Olivo
We restore abandoned, century-old olive groves and bring the orchards of Oliete and Alacón (Teruel) back to life — crafting products that transform villages.
Who we are?
MiOlivo.org is part of the Apadrinaunolivo.org project, a non-profit social initiative based in Oliete (Teruel) working to recover abandoned olive groves and transform rural life.
It all started in 2014 with a simple question: what if we brought back to life what those before us cared fo r so lovingly? The olive grove was the first to awaken: century-old trees that seemed forgotten, and which today, thanks to those who have handed over their land and to madrinas, padrinos, and collaborators (tree sponsors and volunteers), are bearing fruit once again. In 2017, Mi Olivo was born — the first brand of Extra Virgin Olive Oil made from olive trees under recovery.
Shortly after, in 2021, life also returned to the orchards of Oliete and Alacón (Teruel). Through hard work and care, we brought their vegetables back to nourish us again. Thanks to them, we can now make Mi Olivo preserves — 100% natural, handcrafted products made at our cannery in Alacón (Teruel). Every jar of leeks, peppers, escalivada, artichokes, or vegetable pâtés that leaves the cannery carries a piece of our shared story — and proof that great things can be made from rural life.
Our Impact
We are part of a social, solidarity-driven and sustainable project that transforms rural realities through land recovery, local job creation, and a commitment to mindful, respectful food production.
Rural Development
Through this sustainable model and the sale of our products, we create direct and indirect jobs that allow families to stay and live in the area. This agricultural and transformative activity has revived the rural economy and helped curb depopulation. We've also revived traditional trades linked to olive growing and artisan food-making, strengthening the region's cultural identity.
Land Recovery
Since the start, we have recovered more than 26,000 century-old olive trees that had been abandoned for years, and brought donated orchards back into production, turning unproductive land into active farmland. We work with sustainable farming practices and a circular economy model, making the most of every raw material our products use.
Local, Artisan Production
Our products are handcrafted at our cannery in Alacón, using fresh, local ingredients. Vegetable preserves are prepared by hand and roasted over olive pruning waste. Our Virgin Olive Oil is cold-extracted, with no additives or blends. We're committed to healthy, honest food that stays connected to its origin.
A Solidarity, Sustainable Oil
MiOlivo.org exists thanks to the transformative power of Apadrinaunolivo.org, a project already joined by over 9,000 sponsors, firmly committed to bringing Oliete's 100,000 abandoned century-old olive trees back to life.
Every recovered tree proves that doing things differently is possible. With the support of our sponsors and collaborators, we produce a high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil, made at our own mill through cold extraction with no blending. A limited-edition product, local in character and crafted with care and purpose.
Our EVOO, made from the Empeltre variety, has been recognized at numerous national and international competitions. It has also earned year-on-year recognition from the Denominación de Origen Aceite del Bajo Aragón (Bajo Aragón Olive Oil Designation of Origin):
🥇 First prize in 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2026
🥈 Second prize in 2021 and 2023
🥉 Third prize in 2025
